They’re moving upwards on Cassis

You have to get it pretty pretty perfect if you’re going to make a pop song and upon reflection string the word ‘epic’ with it too, it takes precision, much more than many people would think. That’s how I see it anyway.
Cassis Orange modestly don’t list ‘epic’ in their myspace description – instead opting for Japanese pop; they are indeed Japanese. Here’s a track that could sweep a multitude with an appreciative shiver:
Cassis Orange – Listen Heartbeat
Flashguns are a special band. I’ve only mentioned them once before?! Let’s not dwell on that; they deserve a whole blog. They toured with Bombay Bicycle Club a few years ago and haven’t looked back since. I caught them catching their breath at Colchester Arts Centre last summer with James, I didn’t know what to expect. In hindsight, it’s hard not to say they didn’t blow me away into a small inspired wreck: the boy at the front was one of the most charismatic people I have ever seen – and I don’t mean he made funny jokes. But see for yourself – what they record is definitely something to be sniffed at.
They’re also making loud and promising sounds of their debut album, but despite releasing youtube videos of themselves recording it, they are yet to announce a release date.
However, only five days ago, they re-released a collection of songs called Matching Hearts, Similar Parts – I would recommend purchasing it.
Here is the full sniff:
Flashguns – I Don’t Not Love You
Flashguns – Bells At Midnight
Flashguns – St George
Flashguns – Racing Races
